Everybody knows that keywords plays a very important role in the search engine optimization world, but not everybody really know how to use them. A website has 2 different "layouts": a visual layout for the visitor, which has to be attractive to keep visitors in and an invisible layout for the search engine.

When you write content on a website you should be aware that not all keywords in a page has the same weight (importance). Let's take a look at how to put emphasis on some keywords to make them more relevant for search engines by using different HTML tags.

Header tags (H1-H6)

When you build a website you have to put header tags in every page of your website. Those header tags help determining the nature of the content in the page. Normaly you write one H1 tag in the top of the page to display the topic/title of the page. Then, you add (as necessary) some H2 tags to separate sections on the page. Then, also as needed, you can place H3, H4, H5 and H6 tags on sub sections to highlight their content.

Bold face tags

Using bold face tags (<b>) can help identify some key phrases in your page, helping the search engine to find more strategic parts the needs a special attention. It does not give a very high importance to the keywords, but they are treated as more important/relevant than ordinary text.

Conclusion

Always remember that a search engine looks at a website the same way a human do (or at least they try very hard to make that right), so if you bold some text or create relevant headers, the search engine will be able to understand more efficiently what the page is all about and then, index it more properly.
