When Search Engine Optimization started to be popular a couple years ago, thousands of new "SEO companies" started to appear. Most of them are only a "one-man-company". Also, a lot of them are located in India where money means a lot more than in America.
Because anyone can claim to be an SEO professionnal, the number of "SEO profesionnals" is astronomical, and the fact is that the large majority of them are anything but profesionnals !
Many SEO "professionnals" that starts to do this will desperately try to get some contracts to make money (or simply steal your money). Many, many of them starts to visit websites and write (a generic email) to the webmaster telling him that he can dramatically increase its position in search engines. These emails often comes from simple GMail addresses because they know they will be flagged as SPAM so when they have been flagged enough time they create another address and continue spamming people.
I you are contacted by one of those SEO spammers, the only thing you have to do is to flag them as SPAM. Do not answer anything to the mail, just hit "SPAM". Never do business with them !
Basically, an SEO professionnal is someone who can optimize a website so it can easily be found naturally on search engines. So why are they writing to everyone like this if they are supposed to be able to optimize their own website so you find them easily and naturally ? Because they simply can't optimize a website ! They are so stupid that they can't even create a small website for them ! Or at least buy a domain name to send real professionnal emails, not free emails. They only want your money.
If you want to optimize your website to get more visitors from search engines, you will certainly search by yourself on the internet and find different real established companies, contact them by phone and then choose which one to do business with. You will certainly not trust sandeepindia822@gmail.com who tells you in a poor english that he can optimize your website without giving you his own website URL, right ?
When you thing about hiring an SEO company (a real one), please check the following things:
- They have a good website (great looking with good content written)
- They have never contacted you by mail before you asked
- They have full contact informations on their website (email, toll-free phone number, live chat, physical location)
- They answer the phone when you call
- You have find them naturally in a search engine (or someone you know referred it to you)
If one of those checks cannot be marked as "OK", don't do business with them and try to find one that meets all these requirements.
